Your Visit

Your pet may have been referred to Northside Veterinary specialists for a specialist consultation.
We have compiled the list below to give you an idea of what to expect and how we operate.

  1. Phone 02 9452 2933 or Book Online Here for an appointment. Our reception staff will collect details from you over the phone about your pet and which vet they have been referred by and to.
  2. After your appointment is made, our staff will ensure we have all relevant history, blood tests or imaging reports from your regular vet before you arrive.
  3. On arrival, you will sit down with your specialist, pet, and often an additional veterinarian to go through what has been happening. The vets will examine your pet, and together with you and your regular vet, will formulate a diagnostic or therapeutic plan to suit.
  4. If your pet is required to stay in the hospital, you will be taken through an admission form and an estimate of the expected costs.
  5. If your pet has to stay overnight, we will touch base with you regularly to discuss progress and keep you informed.
  6. All accounts must be settled at the end of your pet’s hospital stay. We have options for payment, including payment plans so please feel free to discuss these options at the time of admission.
  7. All case history, including plans and follow up recommendations will be sent to your family veterinarian. We work very closely with our referring practices to make sure they are kept in the loop – ensuring a seamless process for you, and the best possible care for your pet.
